Patient information

Questions before your visit?

Find quick answers about appointments, referrals, health fund claiming and what to expect at Coburg Podiatry.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed for a standard consultation. You will need a GP referral for DVA Gold Card, WorkCover, TAC or Medicare (Enhanced Primary Care / chronic disease) appointments.

Will you confirm my appointment?

Yes. We confirm appointments 24 hours in advance by SMS or phone.

Can you arrange a home visit?

If a patient is unable to attend the clinic we may be able to visit, depending on circumstances. Please ask when you book. Home visit fees apply.

Do you offer HICAPS?

Yes. We offer HICAPS for clients with private health insurance that covers podiatry.

Are after-hours appointments available?

After-hours and weekend appointments are available on request, in addition to our regular weekday and Saturday hours.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring the shoes you wear most often, any sports footwear relevant to your symptoms, and copies of referrals, scans or reports you already have. A list of medications and questions can also be useful.

What happens during an initial consultation?

Your podiatrist will ask about your symptoms, medical history, activity and goals. They will examine the affected area and may assess footwear, joint movement, strength or the way you walk before explaining the findings and options.

Do you see children?

Yes. The clinic assesses growing feet, walking concerns, heel pain, sports-related symptoms and issues such as frequent tripping or unusual shoe wear.

Can I use private health insurance?

If your cover includes podiatry, you may be able to claim on the spot through HICAPS. Benefits vary between funds and policies, so check directly with your insurer if you are unsure.

Do you make custom orthotics?

Yes. Custom orthotics may be recommended after an assessment when they are relevant to your symptoms and goals. They are individually prescribed and checked for fit and function.

Do you offer shockwave therapy?

Yes. Shockwave therapy may be discussed for some persistent heel, Achilles or other tendon pain, after an assessment. It is not suitable for every presentation. Your podiatrist will explain what a session involves before treatment goes ahead.

Do you treat plantar warts with SWIFT?

Yes. SWIFT microwave therapy is one option we use for suitable plantar warts. The podiatrist assesses the area first, because not every skin lesion is a wart and not every wart needs SWIFT.

Where is the clinic?
